Stanzas and Metaphors

In the last few weeks we have been looking at how stanzas come together and contribute to the overall structure of a poem. We used the poem "An Ocean of Memories" as the basis for this work. We read the poem, analyzed the stanzas and discussed how each stanza contributed to the overall metaphor of the author's family being an ocean.

Then we applied our knowledge of stanzas and metaphors to write our own family metaphor poems. These are currently displayed on our lockers!
