Text Structures

This week we are working on identifying what type of structure is used to organize an informational text. We started by watching a Flocabulary video that gave us an overview of different types of Text Structures.  We also looked a graphic organizer that showed the differences between the five different text structures and put it as a reference in our reading notebook.

Next, we broke in to small groups to study one particular structure and create a presentation to share the information about that structure with the rest of the class. We watched a Flocabulary video about either Sequence, Cause and Effect, Problem and Solution or Compare and Contrast. Then we made a poster and taught the rest of our class about that structure!

Next week we will work on reading informational texts and identifying what structure is used to organize the information.
